what is a yield curve It is a graph of the interest rates, at a set point in time, of bonds having equal credit quality, but differing maturity dates. The most frequently reported yield curve compares the three-month, two- year, five-year and 30-year U.S. Treasury debt.
what is an inverse curve The interest rate structure which exists when short-term interest rates exceed long-term interest rates.
what is a Butterfly Shift A nonparallel shift in the yield curve which A change in the yield curve for bonds in which yields on short-term bonds and long-term bonds change the same amount but the yield on medium-term bonds does not.
what is a Flat Yield Curve A yield curve in which there is little difference between short-term and long-term rates.
what is a Forward Curve A graph of forward interest rate values over different time periods.
what is a Forward Rate The future interest rate of a bond inferred from the term structure, especially from the yield curve of zero-coupon bonds
